If you have been following my blog and other social media platforms, you will know that I extract quite a deal of the greatest pieces of advice and wisdom from the most successful people on earth. I have seen, read, and heard a ton of these pieces of valuable information from all the lectures, interviews, talks, discussions, articles, and books I have come across. I cannot waste my time in recounting and publishing all of them due to my limited time on earth and the sheer amount of additional information out there I have yet to touch. But I often share a fraction of what I have learned in my tweets and blog posts, which is more than enough considering the sheer amount I find on a daily and weekly basis. So, without further ado, here is a clip, matched with the exact time stamp (6:56) where George Lucas shares his secret to success to Family Guy creator Seth MacFarlane. Again, it is not the only thing, but it is a very common theme, so make sure you choose something you are passionate to do, not something you think will make you money but you hate. What George Lucas says: The secret ingredient for our success [he is talking about himself and people like him] is that we love movies and we love making them. We didn’t do it to get rich; we never thought we would get rich or be successful or that anybody would even like it. And we make the kind of movies that we would like to see. And we have the advantage of actually being able to make the movie.
Earlier in the talk, he mentions another important thing, which is that he made movies because he wanted to see a certain type of movie and no one had or would make it so he had to make it for himself.
Let these insights soak in your mind and let yourself ponder about them and start thinking of why these things are important to success.
