One of the best books I recommend is the How of Happiness.
Modern society has tricked us into believing certain things will bring us happiness that won’t. This book is what I was looking for: an extensive A to Z explanation on happiness for humans with tons of cold, hard science to back it up. It also goes into depth on how you can improve your long-term happiness. Works great for beginner to intermediate sadness or depression.
